empty tears

Thanks to Aiji for certain learned opinions.

Happy times of yesterday are twisted like lies; I can't see it¹
How should I fill up the emptiness of this chest?

Despite tracing your silhouette with my finger²
all I can feel is pain and unending loneliness
The unnoticing manner which has consecutively been pointed out
that's because I don't want to believe; I merely wanted to escape
empty tears

That which flows aren't tears; they are thoughts that can't be conveyed
Dreams that are destroyed by oppression fall; they dance beside my feet³

Things that will once again make you happy
are to me what I can't do or don't want to understand!
Abandonment is but unconveyable
It's too late; all that is left are phantoms
empty tears

Happy times of yesterday are twisted like lies; I can't see it
How should I fill up the emptiness of this chest?

That which flows aren't tears; they are thoughts that can't be conveyed
Dreams that are destroyed by oppression fall; they dance beside my feet

1 "nijinde" implies "imbued with", or "soaked through" (figuratively). But the equal expression in English should be as translated.
2 "omokage" is more of "traces" rather than silhouette; it is something vaguer than what is implied in the translation.
3 "ashimoto" can mean a) the stand of the person, or b) beside the feet of the person. I think it fits a) well; Tetsu would then be referring to his stand as on similar levels as with the broken dream. b) is more literal.

(This is what happens when a lit student attempts translations... :-P)
